I always seem to sandwich heavy posts like my most recent confessions about motherhood with shallow, easy posts. I guess it just goes to further demonstrate my need for balance in all areas of my life. :) Today I thought I'd share some of my most recent favorite things.

weekly to-do lists/pads from the $1 section at Target

You all know how much I love to make a list and check it off. Needless to say I thought about these for all of two seconds before tossing two of them into my basket. I love being able to see a week's worth of chores/errands at a time. If I don't accomplish something one day, I just move it to another day instead of turning another page in my planner and totally forgetting about it. Go getcha some.

my new Ikea kitchen island

My generous mother-in-law sent me an email in December and told me she wanted to get me the island off of my ULTIMATE wish list as a combination Christmas/Birthday/Mother's Day gift. I nearly peed my pants with excitement. Last weekend I was in DC for a quick overnight trip and was able to pick up this beauty. Sunday afternoon John put her together and I'm happy to say John, myself AND Luke have all enjoyed the island every.single.day. I don't know how I lived without it! This weekend I hope to sand and stain the island so it will be ready for full-time use. Thanks so much, B!
